My love of textiles started with my Granny Mary, teaching me how to sew at an early age.
Clothes for my dolls being an important project. I went on to study for a degree in Embroidery, three fantastic years learning from top practitioners. Drawing and painting feeds everything I create. The natural world is my inspiration. I adore colour, especially when reflected in the richness of silk and Liberty of London prints.
Threads, beads and sequins delight me, making me long to create.
Perfection drives me, I approach a piece of embroidery like a painting adding detail, working out composition, negative and positive space, contrast and accent.
